🍂 Fall Closure: Honoring Rest, Healing, and Reflection

By November 21, 2025No Comments

EMAC will be closed for fall break during Thanksgiving week from November 24th-28th. While this holiday is rooted in the colonization of Native land, we are repurposing this time to step back, care for our minds and bodies, and reflect on what real community care looks like for diasporic Southeast Asian communities in Stockton and across the Central Valley. We honor the unceded lands of the Miwok people that we reside on and recognize our struggle to co-create freedom with our immigrant and refugee communities is intertwined with Indigenous peoples’ struggle for sovereignty.

We encourage our allies, partners, and community members to take gentle care of yourselves in whatever ways are possible for you. Rest is not equally accessible to everyone, especially for working class, immigrant, and system impacted families, but we believe that any small act of slowing down, breathing, or connecting with loved ones can be an act of resistance and healing.
For urgent issues, reach out to our Executive Director, Nikki Chan, or contact us at info@emacstockton.org or 209-315-5389. Our office will reopen December 1st as we look forward to returning recharged and ready to continue fighting alongside our community.
